200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training: Online Self-Paced

The Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga School trains teachers in the power vinyasa style of yoga – a meditative, breath focused practice with philosophy weaved into the practice in a way that makes it relevant and understandable.
You will learn to lead a 75-90 minute all levels class while connecting ancient yoga philosophy with modern day to day life challenges in order to make it relatable to your students.

In the early days of yoga, the practice was passed down directly from teacher to student.
My mentor style yoga teacher training recreates this traditional yoga model.
While this is mostly a self-study program, what makes it unique from most “online” courses that are currently being offered is the individualized training with direct face-time with Lyn.
You will have a total of six 1-on-1 Zoom meetings.
During these sessions you will receive feedback on each teaching video you submit and have an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
I get to know each trainee and you will not be just another anonymous number signing up for an online course.

(I highly recommend before committing to an online training course to do some research. Many course DO NOT include direct feedback on trainee’s practice teach assignments. It is crucial that you are able to submit teaching videos where upon your teacher views them and gives you feedback – this is how you will learn and fine tune your teaching skills).

When you register for the course, you will receive a personalized email
directly from me (not an auto email). We will then set up our first Zoom session. This first session will be used to go over the curriculum and assignments so that you have a clear understanding of the requirements and expectations. I consider this training to be more of a self-study, self-paced course as opposed to a traditional online course.

You have 12 months from our first one-on-one Zoom meeting to complete the program.
Along with an online anatomy course, reading, and written assignments, you will be required to submit teaching videos. Please be sure you have at least one volunteer “student” to teach to. Please read the details of the curriculum and requirements below.

What to Expect After Payment
Upon registration (payment and submission of agreement/application) Lyn will contact you to schedule your first Zoom session.
Your access to the LKPY library of prerecorded classes via Vimeo will begin immediately.
If you choose to purchase the discounted yearly unlimited pass, it will activate upon payment and you can begin to attend live-stream and in-person studio classes.
You will receive your manual and access to the online anatomy course prior to
your first Zoom session.
Because I am hands-on and I do everything manually,

Course Curriculum and Requirements

Mentorship Support
Training includes 6 mentoring/training sessions with Lyn via Zoom. Expect each session to be approximately 30 minutes in length. You will receive feedback and support for your progress. Specific needs, questions and concerns will be addressed. Along with discussion, review and lecture on upcoming self-study lessons.

Functional Anatomy of Yoga
This online course will focus on a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of human anatomy. It will cover basic terminology as well as major anatomical systems, sections of the body, and their components.
After completing this course you will have a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of human anatomy pertaining to safe and functional movement.
This course includes reading assignments, video tutorials and written testing.

Teaching Yoga: Techniques and Methodology

-Teaching Practicum – Leading a Yoga Class:
Upon completion of your 200-hour training, you will have the tools and confidence to lead a 90 minute power vinyasa style yoga a class.
Topics that will be covered include:
-the power yoga teaching formula for an all levels class
-alignment principles and the basic alignment for primary yoga asanas, along with modifications
-cueing techniques to lead and support all levels of students
-sequencing formula for a power vinyasa yoga class and a standard 90 minute sequence – the sequence is a blueprint to build future class plans from
-how to “read” a student’s pose and teach what you see

 You will be required to submit a total of 5 teaching videos (approximately 20-30 minutes in length each) plus a final test teaching video of a 60 minute class. You should have at least one student in each video. You can teach your student virtually or in-person.
This unit is supported with reading assignments, prerecorded classes for personal practice and audio recordings for cueing and sequence reference.

-Theming – Taking Students Beyond the Physical:
Gain the ability to teach philosophy on that mat in a way that is relevant and understandable to all yoga students.
-explore what motivates you as a teacher and which philosophical concepts you most connect with
-learn the formula for theming
-learn mental practices that can be applied in class that support each Yama and Niyama
-understand how to connect the dots of practicing yoga philosophy on the mat to taking it off the mat

You will be required to write a theme based on one ethical concept studied in the Yamas and Niyamas journaling course.

Philosophy and History of Yoga

-The Yoga Sutras Of Patanjali
This course includes:
-required reading and written assignment using The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali book and study guide by Dana Baptiste

-Living Your Yoga – The Yamas and Niyamas (Yoga’s Ethical Principles)
Journaling For Self-Exploration:
-along with required reading, there will be weekly journaling and a reflection paper written for each yogic principle
You will explore:
-what are the Yamas and Niyamas
-how to apply each principle in your daily life
-how to apply and theme each principle in a yoga class


A regular, personal practice is one of the most important tools you will have as a teacher. You are required to complete 50 group class practices led by Lyn. You will have access to prerecorded videos for 12 months and you will be required to keep a journal record for each practice.  For those interested in practicing via live stream or in person studio classes, you will be able to purchase a discounted one year unlimited pass for $550 – that’s over 70% off the regular price.
