Teaching Power Yoga Online Course

THE ART & SKILL OF TEACHING POWER YOGA
A Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Program – 30 CEUs

Power yoga uses the physical practice as a tool for transformation –
leading to more mindfulness and self-awareness.

The rise of power yoga in recent years has attracted many individuals seeking to teach this dynamic and physical style of yoga.
However, there is often a misconception about what a power yoga practice entails, and some yoga instructors are teaching this style of yoga without undergoing proper training.

As a teacher ask yourself:
Would you teach an Ashtanga style class without training in Ashtanga?
Would you teach an Iyengar style practice without training in Iyengar yoga?

Yes, power yoga is an athletic form of yoga that emphasizes strength, flexibility, and stamina.
However, leading a power yoga class does not mean a fitness only based yoga practice. And this is where some often go wrong.

The emphasis on power and intensity can overshadow the core principle of power yoga: everything you do on your mat should help you with everything you do off your mat.

Power yoga integrates philosophical principles into the practice in a way that is relevant in today’s modern world.
The physical practice is based on creating balance and accessibility for most.
It’s not a ‘fast flow’, it’s not ‘advanced only’, and it certainly is not an ‘exercise’ only practice.

In this course you will learn exactly what power yoga is, and how to teach it with confidence and care.
