Peak Pose Sequencing & Beyond: Teaching Strength and Skill

Peak poses should not be the destination. But instead, a result from consistently teaching strength, skill, and intentional movement. This course explores how to design classes that progressively develop the strength, movement patterns, and skills students need to safely and confidently approach more challenging postures.

A peak pose is not built in a single class –
it is developed over weeks, months, and even years through systematic practice.

Creating a peak pose sequence is not simply breaking down a pose and placing a few “prep poses” before the final posture. While preparation in a single class is certainly important, truly preparing students for more complex postures takes strength and skill-building, and an overall deeper understanding of how the body moves within the common movement patterns.

This course explores how to design
classes that progressively develop the strength, mobility, coordination, and movement patterns students need to safely and confidently approach
more challenging postures.

You’ll learn how to identify the physical skills required for a pose and integrate those skills into your classes long before the peak posture ever appears.

Course materials include:

-Downloadable study guides for each
unit of study
-Practice drills and exercises with worksheets
-90-minute sequence blueprint
-Sequences designed for strength
and skill-building
-Progressions for complex poses
-Peak pose class sequence to build from
-Reflective questions for journaling
