300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training

When you first begin training to become a yoga teacher, you realize that teaching is really an extension of your practice. And you cannot separate your practice on your mat with the way you live your life. Teaching becomes a continuous search for knowledge.
This training program is designed to specifically support this commitment and to elevate your skills in order to better be able offer more guidance and inspiration to your students.

I am firm believer that as teachers we need to take responsibility for our own continuous study and exploration of yoga.
I also believe that at this ‘training’ level, a student-teacher mentor situation is more beneficial and valuable than a group setting.

A 200-hour program lays the foundation and gives you the tools to begin teaching. A 300-hour program should be designed to not only expand your skills and offer more in-depth study, but it should also meet you where you are as a teacher and support your individuality.

With this is mind, I put together this program.
It will guide you through different courses of study. Along with me as your lead trainer, you will have access to other expert teachers and their platforms.

Teachers you will be studying with:
David Keil (Anatomy)
Paul Grilley (Anatomy & Yin Yoga)
Dr. Seth Powell (Yoga Philosophy & History)

You get unlimited access to me. You choose how much support and contact you need/prefer. You have the option of keeping all communication via email, or with 6 one-on-one mentoring sessions. These sessions can be done in-person or via Zoom.

UNITS OF STUDY

Philosophy in Action – The 8 Limbs of Yoga on the mat and out in the world
This unit is designed to compliment and reinforce your online philosophical studies with YogicStudies.com (see details of the online courses below). It includes an exploration through the use of guided yoga practices that will spotlight a specific philosophical concept.

Each practice led by Lyn includes an asana practice, mantras, and a guided meditation relevant to the philosophical focus. Through practice, you will learn how to apply yoga philosophy into your class using physical actions to help your students develop a better understanding of what yoga really is – beyond the pose. You will also have access to training sessions and classes that were previously recorded to support each specific concept. The practices vary from a more traditional power yoga sequence to different types of sequencing methods.
Some of the styles of creative sequencing we explore include looping, stacking, around the world, sequencing from mountain pose.

As part of this unit, you will review the Yamas and Niyamas and dig deeper into your own personal experience with them as they apply to life, both personally and professionally, and on a global level. Journaling and self-reflection papers are required to help explore your growth in these concepts since you were first introduced to them. You will be asked to reevaluate how you apply specific philosophical principles as you navigate through life.
It will ask you to take an honest look at how you take these principles out into the world for the collective good – the yoga of action as studied in the Bhagavad Gita. It will ask, what is your dharma?

Guided meditations with a focus on each Yama and Niyama are included to supplement your self-exploration for each week. You will learn how to write and lead a guided meditation.

This course includes: required asana and meditation practices, reading and journaling assignments
