This program is based on a traditional mentor relationship and designed to specifically support your growth as a vinyasa yoga teacher.
The LKPY 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training curriculum was developed from my own experience as a yoga teacher for three decades and as a teacher trainer for the last 15 years.
The topics and chosen studies are based on what I have personally found to support my growth in becoming a better teacher over the years.
I believe the best teacher is practice itself. A large portion of the training sessions will be allocated to actually practicing the concepts being studied.
We build on your 200-Hour training with:

-advanced anatomy, an online course
-comparative anatomy course that includes addressing common imbalances, the difference between tension and compression, and how to assess students in order to develop individualized practices
-how to integrate more complex poses into your power vinyasa class without breaking the flow
-an in-depth online Sanskrit course, includes history, grammar and proper pronunciation of common yoga terms
-you will develop a personal meditation practice and learn how to lead guided meditations with a Yamas & Niyamas based theme
-a deep dive into the study and application of The 8 Limbs of Yoga – how to integrate them into the physical practice of your class in creative ways to make them more relevant to your students
-yin yoga, the science and practice
-vinyasa yoga for prenatal students
This training is open to anyone who is certified at the 200-hour level.
(Your 200-hour certification does not need to be with LKPY)
Each trainee will receive ongoing mentoring with Lyn to support your growth and studies.
While this is an in person program, the option to join all sessions via Zoom is available.

This program is for those who are already certified at the 200-hour level.
This advanced training will build on the Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training.
For those who did not receive their 200-hour certification from LKPY, you will need to schedule your first mentoring session prior to the first training session to review the basic foundation and principles that the 200-hour program is built upon.
Techniques, Methodology & Anatomy Module: Uplevel Your Teaching
Advanced Anatomy Online Course with David Keil
This course will follow anatomy through the process of building asanas. We’ll deconstruct seemingly complex asanas and look at their parts and pieces through the lens of anatomy. This course will provide you with information and tools to understand why you might be observing a particular pattern in your student’s practice. At the completion of this course, you’ll have a better understanding of how to help your students build the patterns they need to evolve their postures in a healthy way.

Developing a Teacher’s Eye – The Next Step
This course will include:

-study of causes and muscles involved in common muscular imbalances found in the body that occur from normal day to day activities or due to prior injuries

Comparative Anatomy with Paul Grilley-
-learn how anatomical differences can affect yoga poses
-the difference between tension and compression
-exploration of how anatomical proportions affect poses
-learn how to use specific poses and movements to assess a student
-learn a sequence specific for assessing students
The Art of Teaching Simple to Complex Poses in a Power Vinyasa Class
-learn how to include more complex poses in a vinyasa style class without breaking the flow and without leaving any student behind no matter level of individual experience
-learn how to sequence for a peak pose without straying from the power vinyasa sequencing formula
-the difference between teaching simple to complex and teaching to a peak pose

Yin Yoga Training with Paul Grilley
This unit includes:

Philosophy & Ethics Module: The Eight Limbs of Yoga On and Off the Mat
Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers 18-Hour Online Course – YogicStudies.com with Seth Powell, PhD Candidate
This course goes beyond learning basic yoga poses and terms. Upon completion of this course you will walk away with the following:

The 8 Limbs of Yoga in Action
This unit is designed to compliment and reinforce your online Yoga Sutras studies. It includes a 10-week exploration through the use of guided yoga practices that will spotlight a specific philosophical concept, the Yamas and Niyamas focused mediation, and journaling.
Each practice led by Lyn includes an asana practice, mantras, and a guided meditation relevant to the philosophical focus. Through practice, you will learn how to apply yoga philosophy into your class using physical actions to help your students develop a better understanding of what yoga really is – beyond the pose.
As part of this unit, over the course of 10 weeks, you will review the Yamas and Niyamas and dig deeper into your own personal experience with them as they apply to life, both personally and professionally. Self-reflection papers are required to help explore your growth in these concepts since you were first introduced to them. Guided meditations with a focus on each Yama and Niyama are included to supplement your self-exploration for each week.You will learn how to write and lead a guided meditation.
This course includes: required asana and meditation practices, reading and journaling assignments, and a final project
-development of a regular meditation practice

-learn guided meditations for the Yamas, Niyamas and the other 6 Limbs
Through the course of your training you will receive ongoing mentorship with Lyn.
Mentorship recreates the traditional yoga teacher training model based on a strong and trusted relationship between mentor and student. I am a strong believer, based on my many years training teachers, that a mentor style relationship is an important ingredient on the path to yoga teaching. While group training is an important part of the training process, everyone learns differently and has unique challenges and talents. Mentorship gives each trainee an opportunity for individualized support specific to their needs. You will be required to submit audio recordings of your teaching throughout the training.
35 Group Practice Sessions
A regular, personal practice is one of the most important tools you have as a teacher. You will have 18 months from the start of the first module to complete this requirement. You can fulfill your requirements via in-person, live-stream, or the on-demand classes.

-Participation in 35 group practice sessions led by Lyn
-Attendance at monthly practice teach sessions
-Final Practical Test (for each module)
-Self-study and other homework assignments

Upon completion of all requirements, you will receive a Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga 300-Hour Advanced Training Certificate of Completion as evidence. Teachers who have certified at the 200-hour level with Lyn, will receive their 500-hour level teaching certificate.
Teacher’s currently registered with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-200 level will be
eligible to upgrade their registration to a RYT-500.
Tuition and Refund Policy:
If you decide to cancel your registration before the start date of the Self-Study period, as long as it is at least 30 days before the start, you will receive a refund minus $500. However, this amount can be applied towards a future training.
No refunds or credits after the program starts. If the studio cancels the program before it begins, you will receive a full refund, included application fee and deposit.
Attendance Policy and Program Requirements:
Attendance will be tracked using the Mindbody system. Trainees should check-in with the lead trainer at least 5 minutes before each session to ensure proper documentation of attendance. Trainees will be able to track any missed sessions through their Mindbody client account.
Attendance at all training sessions is required. However, we understand that conflicts sometimes arise.
In the case of any emergency absences, please notify the program director immediately.
If you know in advance of training dates that you have a conflict with, please contact the program director to discuss options. When possible, one-on-one mentoring sessions can be used to go over any missed information. You will be responsible to get notes, etc., from a fellow trainee.
In situations where there are a lot of missed sessions, they can be made up by attending future training dates or scheduling a one-on-one make-up session with the director. This will be an additional cost. If you have a medical circumstance or other extraordinary circumstances that would require a leave of absence, you will be able to join a future training to complete your requirements. You must restart your training within 12 months. Please note, future trainings are not guaranteed.
